Recent Home Buyers Cite Their Use of Mobile Technology in Their Real Estate Search

Close to half of recent home buyers surveyed reported using mobile applications (45%) and mobile search engines (42%) as a resource during their home buying process according to the 2013 National Association of REALTORS 2013 Profile of Buyers and Sellers, which was released last week.

When buyers were asked how they found the house that they ended up purchasing, 43% cited the internet and while 33% said a real estate agent. The typical home buyer searched for 12 weeks and viewed 10 homes on average.

“It’s clear that more and more buyers are utilizing technology, especially mobile, to find their next home, making it critical that real estate professionals utilize these same technologies to engage buyers,” said Philip Charles-Pierre, CMO for Smarter Agent. “We’re excited to be able to provide agents and brokers with custom mobile applications and mobile web that can be easily shared with home buyers.”
