Wow! What a conference. First of all, we stayed in Dupont Circle, a lively and fun place to be in DC.

NAR’s Midyear meetings were a whirlwind of excellent information, great networking and exceptional meetings.

And wow, is there buzz about mobile!

During the dozens of meetings we had with MLSs and brokerages, we kept hearing that agents and brokers want access to listings right from their mobile devices.

Mobile access allows them to be more efficient with their clients. It means they don’t have to wait to get back to the office to get important listing information.

And it isn’t only agents and brokers who want access to this information, MLSs told us. Consumers want it too.

According to a study by NAR and Google, 1 out of 5 real estate searches are happening on mobile devices, and 68% of new home shoppers are using mobile apps throughout the home buying process.

In the same study, it showed that 51% of new home shoppers are using mobile apps to view property information, while 48% are relying on them to get directions to a home while they’re out and about.

With mobile, agents, brokers and consumers can quickly search for properties by their current location, city/state, neighborhood, or price. They can even find out which homes are holding open houses.

The mobile demand is why dozens of MLSs nationwide are providing a mobile solution to hundreds of thousands of agents and brokers via the Smarter Agent platform.

If your MLS isn’t yet offering a consumer and member facing app, let them know that they too can get their own by visiting www.smarteragent.com/products!
